Shirokuma - Personnel counts

There might be some confusion in reading the "staff available" parts of the case. Basically, the tables describe the middle (productive) parts of the organisation, whereas the upper management levels are implied.

In the 'Expert advice' section, Jill Watson are described as being part of a 'Digital Systems Group'. However, in the 'Background' section where the various divisions and subdivisions are listed, there is no mentioning of such a group/division.
This is a small sub-group within Electrical Engineering, with staff being drawn from all the other subgroups that are listed, but predominantly the software subgroup.

The Mechanical Engineering division are stated to consist of 3 people (1 in design and two in the workshop). In the 'Expert Advice' section, Jim Bowles is described as being 'Head Of Mechanical Engineering'.
... meaning he's in charge of three other people.

In the beginning of the 'Background' section a 'New Products Director' is mentioned. Would it be fair to assume that there are a number of additional directors, eg. CEO and CFO, which are additional people not included in themancounts described for each division ?
Yes, there are other exectives and managers, with strategic and accounting roles, within the Board of Directors.
